What I do

15+ years building things for the web, mostly at Drama Queen Communications*. One week a luxury villa booking platform, the next a 3D product configurator, the next a campaign site for the Moomins.

The client list runs from international beauty brands such as L'Oréal through Finnish household names like Hesburger and Airam, to cultural institutions, industrial B2B, and luxury travel. This range is part of the job when you're a go-to developer at an agency.

The work I find most interesting tends to involve either unusual technical constraints, a real integration challenge, or a brief that needed translating before it could be built. That last part is where I seem to do my best work.

* previously known as SFB Agency or Satumaa

Honorable mentions

While most of my work remains behind the scenes, throughout my career I have gotten to create many different things, some even worth a few accolades. I built the backend and location data system behind Kiss My Turku, which won Gold and Best UI Design at the Finnish Web Awards in 2020. Our first Instagram Filter (all the way back in 2021) for Atelier Torbjörn Tillander got shortlisted for Vuoden Huiput/Grand One. In 2024 Drama Queen published a case study on our seven years of building platforms for Villada, Cottage Finland (Mökkivuokra) and Hideout Villas — everything from first contact to luxury villa booking, payment systems, and an interesting pandemic pivot.

Currently into

AI tooling on the practical side — MCP servers, chatbots, workflow automation. Less interested in the hype, more interested in what actually saves time or solves something real.

React, Vite, Next and TypeScript for frontend. Laravel and Node.js on the backend. Custom scripts when need be. Three.js when something needs to be three-dimensional and interesting.

Outside of regular projects, also building a collection of visual experiments that could bring that little extra™ to any project.

Struggling with time-tracking on Severa? Me too.

Agency life means Severa. Severa means pain. So I built a helper: mock-medical aesthetic, slightly unhinged, genuinely useful if you're filling in timesheets at the end of the week. It's a work in progress, but if you're interested in trying it out or giving feedback, let me know!

Outside of work

last.fm ↗

178,000 scrobbles since 2005. 10,000+ artists. I find this either impressive or alarming depending on the day.

War Thunder ↗

I dabble in creating aircraft "skins" (textures). Some are semi-historical. Some are Mountain Dew-themed. Some have even been showcased on YouTube videos.
